That First Scary Blog Post.

Posted on February 24, 2019February 24, 2019 by Kate Oleson

So, you have found your way to my little corner of the blogging world. Welcome. Please don’t run away, I promise it won’t be as bad as the whole school knowing you were the person who jammed the copier on a Monday morning after vacation. Allow me to (finally) introduce myself. My name is Kate, Miss Oleson, or that crazy teacher who needs to stop taking on more tasks. I’ll answer to just about anything! (Seriously, you should hear my family nicknames).

I wish I could say that I started this blog to share the magical secret that will make your classroom Pinterest perfect, your students perfectly behaved, and your papers graded, sorted and put into students’ mailboxes by 3:15. You won’t find any of that here though. I started my blog first and foremost for myself. I wanted a place that I felt like was mine to be honest and real, even if the only person reading this is my friend Aaron who helped me set up this site. (Hi Aaron!) However, if you aren’t Aaron, and my blog has found your way to your screen, I hope you find real strategies, solutions, and stories from the classroom. I want this to be a place where you can relate, laugh if you think I’m funny, and hopefully find some inspiration for your classroom too.

As of right now I don’t have a paid TPT site or an Etsy store, and the one promise that I will make to you is that even if I open one up down the road, I will not feature only those resources and ideas. I will feature my strategies that can’t be downloaded, and I will feature other resources that I use as well because let’s be honest, there is far too much grading to do to recreate the wheel all the time.

Now that’s all for my first post, although I have a few others that will quickly follow…it took a little bit to get this blog up and running but I prepped my posts on the back end! Hopefully I haven’t scared you away yet and you come back for more. If this is the absolute last time you’ll ever read this blog, thanks for giving this girl and her first blog a chance I appreciate it more than you know!

Hi! Welcome to my little happy place on the internet. My name is Kate and I am a fourth grade teacher, forever learner, and crafting addict. When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my nieces and nephew (who I am obsessed with), I love to bake, draw, and go to concerts. Thanks for visiting!
