Whiteboard art is my jam. I get to practice my hand lettering, use all the colors of whiteboard markers, and build my students writing skills. That’s what I call a win-win…-win.
Whiteboards is one thing I can talk about forever. So much so I have this whole page, and a dedicated blog post here (whoops).
Well you may be thinking this one is obvious. Tools for whiteboards include more than the whiteboard markers and erasers. Here’s the thing, I LOVE teachergram but sometimes I end up feeling BROKE. Yup, you heard that right. Broke.
I LOVE seeing what other teachers are using, but sometimes I look at all the things and I see dollar signs. I mean how can I afford that? Whiteboards to me are my super exciting fun thing. However, I don’t want to waste my money on markers and materials! You’ll see me break these down below!
Okay, markers are a little different here because I like certain markers for different reasons and I break them down below.
One Mile Dry Erase for sure. They sent me their markers to try out and I was SOLD. You guys. These can’t dry out. It’s a dispersed tip so if ever it gets low or starts to dry out (yes, I am referring to that kid that doesn’t cap markers) just press in the tip and the fun starts flowing again!
Okay, I do not discriminate against markers, I use them all BUT, one of my favorite colors is yellow and that feels IMPOSSIBLE to find. So I have linked my favorites here. They don’t last as long as One Mile, but the certainly last for a LONG time.
So when it comes to markers I mix it up, but I buy like crazy when things are on sale. When you are just starting out, I’d think about your wants and needs and do whats best for you!
Believe it or not a lot more tools go into whiteboards than just markers. See below!
Y’all DON’T buy those gray felt erasers. You are throwing away your money. They get dirty and gross so quick and end up leaving a mess. I only buy Magic Erasers. I typically pick them up at the Dollar Store or find cheap ones but you can buy them in bulk on Amazon too.
I TRY to spray my boards once a week, but honestly, it’s more like once a month. I put a few different sizes in my whiteboard list on Amazon-but I honestly just get these from school!
Yes, just your typical pencil! I use the eraser to erase out tiny details and make things look a little bit more crisp. I’m not linking these, because I am sure that you guys have them (maybe on the floor under a desk).
Again in sounds silly, but I don’t have time to be creative ALL the time. Most days I honestly think of a prompt, write it out and then Google one of the words with clip art after it, and I find a pic and I am on my way!
I hope this helps you get started, but if you want more info, want to send me love, or know about the first time I remember being embarrassed, drop me a message below!!
